Snapshot: Escape

Not long ago, Alex and I planned an escape. Not a long escape, just a week or so, but our criteria was very firm: it had to be a tropical island escape. We picked Bora Bora, and then spent the next few months dreaming about snorkeling, sunbathing, and drinks with umbrellas in them. Of course, Bora Bora didn’t disappoint, and with the weekly photo challenge theme this week being ‘Escape’, I figured I had to throw in a picture from this trip because I can’t think of a better place to get away.

A few days into our trip we took a tour of the island and discovered coconut plantations, old US army bases, and got a glimpse of how the locals live. This local boy followed our tour through most of the island, and as our guide would stop to talk, the boy would quietly sneak off to his favorite vantage point at each location. Here he is below, perhaps plotting an escape of his own.
