Hi friends! It’s Christmas Day here which means that the folks back home will shortly be settling into bed and waiting for Santa’s arrival (one good thing about this whole time zone thing: we don’t have to wait as long to open presents). I do have to admit that I’ve been a little homesick over the past few weeks. Sure we were excited to spend the holidays in Sydney – but that meant not seeing our family and friends or getting our yearly dose of cold weather and snow.
To combat these pangs of homesickness, Alex and I concluded that we needed to start a new tradition, and we figured the most Aussie thing we could do was to go to the beach. We even managed to find a dog friendly one in Sirius Cove Reserve, which meant that Luna could discover the joys of sand, surf, and swimming. So we set off to the beach for a little fun in the late afternoon sun:
After our adventures at Sirius Cove, we headed back to the house to cook up a Christmas feast and open the presents our parents shipped over from the U.S. Although we missed being with the folks back home, Alex and I rather liked our new tradition (and it seems like Luna enjoyed it as well).
Whatever you are doing this holiday season, I hope its holly and jolly, merry and bright. And with that I’ll say a big Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
