Adventuring Australia: Fremantle, Western Australia

After our adventure on Rottnest Island, Alex and I thought we’d kick around Fremantle for a bit. By this point, we knew we were in way over our heads on this trip – the ratio of time vs. stuff we want to see was completely out of proportion. But, being the troopers we are, we pressed on.

Fremantle is only about a 25 minute drive from Perth. Technically it’s a suburb, but it has a completely different feel to it. It has held onto its history and maritime flavor (no big skyscrapers here) resulting in charming, walkable streets full cafes, galleries, and, of course, many historic buildings with amazing details.

Alex and I headed back to Perth to catch our flight home after a bit more shopping and sightseeing, but not before I snapped a few shots of lovely Fremantle.

Outdoor bars and restaurants line the streets, taking advantage of the beautiful weather.
